Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day follows a group of childhood friends who, having drifted apart over the years, are brought back together by the ghost of their deceased friend, Menma. Jinta, once the leader of the group, now lives as a recluse and struggles with guilt over Menma’s death. When Menma’s ghost suddenly appears and asks him to fulfill her wish, Jinta tries to bring their old friends back together. As they look back on their childhood and process their grief, they discover the importance of friendship, forgiveness, and letting go of the past.
