Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day follows a group of childhood friends who are reconnected after years of growing apart through the spirit of their deceased friend, Menma. Jinta, once the leader of the group, has become a reclusive person and struggles with guilt over Menma’s death. When Menma’s ghost suddenly appears and asks him to grant her wish, Jinta tries to reunite the old friends.
