About the series
Macross is a Japanese science fiction franchise set in a future where humanity makes contact with extraterrestrial civilizations. At its core are advanced fighter jets that can transform into robots, large-scale space wars, and the surprising influence of music on conflicts between different peoples.
Since the release of The Super Dimension Fortress Macross in 1982, the franchise has grown into a beloved series with multiple anime series, films, and other media. Each generation brings new characters, rivalries, and musical highlights, while the combination of mecha action, romance, and singing remains a recognizable part of the series.
